The Ministry of Culture and the Media announced that upon invitation by Director-General of UNESCO Irina Bokova, Minister Ivan Tasovac will take part in the UNESCO World Forum on Culture, "Culture, Creativity and Sustainable Development", to be held on 2-4 October in Florence.
The statement said that of 193 member states of the UN, Serbia and four other countries have been selected to conduct national consultations that will affect the agenda of the UN after 2015.
The forum will be held under the auspices of UNESCO and it will be opened by UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova and Minister of Heritage and Cultural Activities of Italy Dario Franceschini.
The forum will gather culture ministers and other senior representatives responsible for culture.
They will exchange experiences dealing with the promotion of cultural heritage and the development of creative industries, the role of culture in social networking and the development of innovation in the cultural sector.
It will be completed by the adoption of the Florentine Declaration, the statement added.
