Serbia enters Davis Cup finals for second time

The Serbian national tennis team entered for the second time the finals of the World Group Davis Cup after defeating Canada last night in the semi-finals with a total score of 3-2.

The decisive point for Serbia was scored by Janko Tipsarevic, who defeated Vasek Pospisil 3-0 in sets (7-6 (7-3), 6-2, 7-6 (8-6)).
In the previous match, the world’s best tennis player Novak Djokovic also beat Milos Raonic 3-0 in sets (7-6 (7-1), 6-2, 6-2) and evened the score at 2-2.
The previous day the Canadian tennis team led 2-1 against Serbia, as the Canadian doubles Daniel Nestor and Vasek Pospisil defeated Ilija Bozoljac and Nenad Zimonjic 3-2 in sets (6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-8).
In the second finals of Davis Cup Serbia will play on 15-17 September in Belgrade Arena against the Czech Republic, which defeated Argentina in the second semi-finals.
Serbia's tennis team played in the 2010 finals against France when it won the Davis Cup and achieved historic success for the Serbian tennis.
