The finest Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic failed to defend his US Open title last night after a long and painstaking duel of almost five hours with Britain’s Andy Murray, which ended in 3:2 (7:6 (12:10), 7:5, 2:6, 3:6, 6:2).

Murray thus obtained his first Grand Slam title which had eluded him for full four years.
He is also the first Briton to have won this title after 76 years, namely since 1936 when Fred Perry was also victorious in New York.
As for Djokovic, this is his third defeat in US Open finals which leaves him with only one title from this tournament so far, that is, a total of five Grand Slam trophies.
