Several thousands citizens greet Serbian Olympic athletes

Belgrade, 15 August 2012

More than 5,000 people celebrated last night in front of the Belgrade City Hall, greeting the Serbian Olympic team, winners of medals in the Olympic Games in London.

They welcomed the medalists Milica Mandic (gold), Ivan Maksimovic (silver), Andrija Zlatic (bronze) and water polo team (bronze).

All members of the Serbian Olympic team gathered at the terrace at the City Hall and together sang the national anthem of Serbia, “God of Justice”, followed by a fireworks display.

Previously, Prime Minister Ivica Dacic hosted a reception for the athletes and thanked them for their performance and behaviour at the Olympic Games in London, which has made Serbia so proud.

Members of the Serbian Olympic team arrived from London on the night between Monday and Tuesday, and were welcomed by President Tomislav Nikolic at Nikola Tesla Airport.
