Victories of Serbian tennis players in Melbourne

Belgrade/Melbourne, 19 January 2012

Serbian tennis players Ana Ivanovic, Novak Djokovic and Janko Tipsarevic achieved landslide victories today and entered the 3rd round of Australian Open in Melbourne.

Ivanovic beat Michaella Krajicek of the Netherlands with 2-0 in sets (6-2, 6-4). Ivanovic’s opponent in the 3rd round will be American Vania King.

Djokovic defeated Santiago Giraldo with 3-0 in sets (6-3, 6-2, 6-1), and Djokovic’s rival in the 3rd round will be Frenchman Nicolas Mau.

Janko Tipsarevic beat Australian James Duckworth in sets with 3-1 (3-6, 6-2, 7-6, 6-4), and Tipsarevic’s rival in the next round will be Richard Gasquet of France.

In the doubles competition at Australian Open, Serbian tennis player Nenad Zimonjic and his partner in doubles Frenchman Michael Llodra defeated the duo Kerr-Young with 2-0 in sets (7-6, 6-3).

In the next match Zimonjic and Llodra will play against Lopez-Marrero.
