The Serbian national handball team has had a successful start at the European Championship, which kicked off in Serbia yesterday, having beaten the Polish team last night by 22:18 (11:7).

This victory in the first round of Group A has secured Serbia one of the first three positions in the group and placement in the next round where the team will take on Denmark on 17 January at 20.15.
In the period 15–29 January Serbia is hosting the 10th European Handball Championship, with 16 attending national teams.
Host towns and cities are Nis, Novi Sad, Vrsac and Belgrade.
