The third international tennis tournament Serbia Open will be held in Belgrade from 23 April to 1 May, with the participation of 28 players led by the world’s tennis player no. 2 Novak Djokovic, it was announced today in the Belgrade City Hall.

Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilas said that all our citizens are proud of this tournament which has been listed among world’s important tennis events and specified that the City of Belgrade will support the organisation of the tournament with RSD 10 million.
He noted that Serbia Open is one the three most important events held in Belgrade, the other two being the Book Fair and the Belgrade Marathon.
Director of the tournament Goran Djokovic said that Serbian Open will be open to all tennis lovers and voiced hope that this competition will grow into the tournament in the category of 500 and 1000 in the years to come.
The prize of this tournament that was won in 2009 by Novak Djokovic and last year by American Sam Querrey is €416,000.
Serbia Open will be held on the grounds of the “Novak” tennis centre in Dorcol.
