Captain of the Serbian national water polo team Vanja Udovicic has been declared the world's best water polo player in 2010 by the magazine published by the International Swimming Federation (FINA).

Udovicic earned the award after a great season at the Italian Pro Recco, the 2010 Euroleague champion, at the same time leading Serbia to a bronze medal at the European Championships and a triumph in the World League competition.
He was voted the best player of big club and national team competitions several times.
In November 2010 he was declared the best water polo player of Europe by the magazine of the European Swimming Federation (LEN) and in 2009 he was the best player of the world cup in Rome in which Serbia won the gold medal.
