A tepid city derby produced very few chances and the best fell to Red Star, whose striker Marko Pantelic should have scored in the 19th minute when he sliced the ball wide from close range with the goal at his mercy.
Red Star almost snatched the game in the 62nd minute but Partizan lkeeper Ivica Kralj pulled off a superb save with his feet from Nikola Zigic's close range header after a good cross by Pantelic.
Partizan are in a commanding position in the title race which has boiled down to the usual two-horse tussle.
Partizan are still unbeaten in all competitions while Red Star are in crisis after a poor start to the domestic campaign and early elimination from Europe.
