The Serbian Olympic Committee has voted athletes of the year tennis player Jelena Jankovic and swimmer Milorad Cavic.

Jankovic won four WTA titles and finished the year as the top-ranked women’s player. Cavic won two gold and two silver medals, including second place at the Beijing Olympics.
Men's water polo team and women's volleyball team were elected the best teams. Serbia's water polo team won three medals: gold at the World League, silver at the European championship, and bronze at the Olympic Games in Beijing.
