The 2000 Olympic gold medallists were defeated by Poland 0-3 (26-28, 19-25, 19-25) in the last match of the quarterfinal round.
Serbia and Montenegro, who lost their first match of the tournament, ranked second of the Group E and advanced into the top four, along with Poland, Brazil and Bulgaria.
In the semifinals, Serbia and Montenegro will face defending champion Brazil, while Poland will clash with Bulgaria.
