Importance of support services for people in need of care, their families

At a meeting titled “Investing in Care Systems for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth: Launch of the Europe and Central Asia Care Action Agenda 2026-2030,” Macura said that financial assistance to families, although important, is insufficient without the development of accessible and sustainable community-based services, such as home care, day-care centres, and respite care for family members who provide care to others.
She noted the importance of partnerships with local governments, civil society organisations, and the private sector, as well as the need to support the professional development of organisations that provide community-based services and to improve opportunities for their licensing.
During her visit to Chișinău, Macura met with Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Moldova Natalia Plugaru.
The two officials reviewed the cooperation to date, expressed support for the European integration processes of both countries and highlighted their desire to further strengthen the good relations between Serbia and Moldova.
