Serbia-Montenegro win bronze medal at women’s world volleyball championship

Osaka, 16 November 2006

Serbia and Montenegro defeated defending champion Italy in three sets, 25-22, 25-22, 25-21, to win bronze medal at the women's volleyball world championship in Japan.

During the tournament, Serbia-Montenegro's team lost only two matches - to Japan in the second round and Brazil in the semifinal.

In the gold-medal match, Russia defeated Brazil by 15-25, 25-23, 25-18, 20-25, 15-13.
