At the ceremony held at the Palace of Serbia, Macut, together with Minister for Family Care and Demography in a caretaker capacity Jelena Žarić Kovačević, presented the first five decisions, out of a total of 150, to mothers from different parts of Serbia.
The Prime Minister stated that the measure represents concrete support for families, particularly young parents, in addressing one of life’s most important issues.
He added that since 2022, more than 1,850 families have received this form of state support, with the total value of assistance exceeding €30 million.
According to him, the state’s obligation is to provide families with security and create conditions for children to grow up in their own home and this measure is intended to make it easier for families to purchase their first home, thereby helping create conditions in which children can grow up in a stable and secure family environment.
Žarić Kovačević said that the state’s aim is to link, combine and adapt support measures to the different life circumstances of families, recalling that mothers have recently also been enabled to use this measure simultaneously with the measure provided by the Ministry of Rural Welfare, allowing them to receive support of up to RSD 2.5 million for the purchase of a rural house with a garden.
