Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić announced today in Washington, D.C., that Serbia will join the Artemis space programme by signing a series of cooperation agreements with US space agency NASA.
The head of Serbian diplomacy announced that tomorrow, on behalf of the Republic of Serbia, he will sign an agreement with NASA that will enable Serbian institutions and companies to engage in space exploration.
Serbia is committed to space exploration for peaceful purposes, for respect of international law, and this agreement will contribute to creating a favourable framework for Serbia’s further development, and also has symbolic value and political significance because it is taking place within the framework of the strategic dialogue, which is a historic step forward in relations between Serbia and the United States, he said.
Đurić stressed that we are aware of what it means for Serbia to be included in the category of countries with which the United States has partnership and friendly cooperation.
The Minister said that tomorrow he will also participate in a conference on political violence organised by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, which will be attended by ministers from 60 countries, and on Friday the strategic dialogue between Serbia and the United State opens.
