Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, attended today the signing of the Protocol on cooperation in the preparation of a national Serbian language model and continuous cooperation on the development of artificial intelligence infrastructure in the Republic of Serbia with 11 institutions, and stated that the goal of this project is to preserve the cultural heritage and the Serbian language in the digital era.

At a ceremony at the eGovernment House, Macut emphasised that this project is of national importance and that it represents a continuation of the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence.
The Prime Minister stated that the goal is for the Serbian language and the Cyrillic script, as part of Serbia’s identity, to be present in modern technologies, especially in artificial intelligence systems, digital services and platforms.
According to him, this project will provide citizens with better digital services, institutions with more efficient work, businesses with greater competitiveness, and education and science with new development opportunities.
The Prime Minister emphasised that this is not the work of a single institution, but a joint venture of the state, science, culture, media and business, pointing out the importance of working together to ensure that Serbia’s cultural heritage and language remain preserved in the digital era and that technology serves everyone.
