Serbia win men's European water polo championship

Men's national water polo team won the 27th European championships after a 9-8 (2-4, 4-1, 2-3, 1-0) win against Hungary on Sunday.

The Serbs fought back from a 5-2 deficit early in the second period at Belgrade's Tasmajdan aquatic centre.

Serbia took an 8-6 lead in the third period and captain Vladimir Vujasinovic sealed the win three minutes from time after Olympic champions Hungary had drawn level.

SERBIA: Sefik, Trbojevic, Udovicic 1, Savic, Ikodinovic 1, Nikic 1, Filipovic 2, Ciric, Sapic 1, Vujasinovic 3, Pekovic, Prlainovic, Pijetlovic.

Spain won the bronze medal after a 10-4 win over Romania.
