Clemente to coach Serbia

Zvezdan Terzic, president of the Football Association of Serbia, announced that Spaniard Javier Clemente had been appointed the first coach of Serbia following the country's split with Montenegro.

The 56-year-old former Spain coach will become the first foreign manager in charge of Serbia, who meet the Czech Republic in a friendly in Prague on August 16. Clemente replaces Ilija Petkovic, who led Serbia and Montenegro at the World Cup, but resigned after they were eliminated in the group stages.
