Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesić and Minister of Transport of Montenegro Maja Vukićević signed a joint letter to the European Commission (EC) on the Belgrade-Bar railway today in Belgrade.
At the meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro Milun Zogović and Minister Vukićević, Vesić emphasised that regional cooperation is extremely important for Serbia, primarily on infrastructure projects with Montenegro.
He assessed that the letter signed today indicates that the two countries will jointly appear before the European Commission and request funds from this additional fund for the development of the Western Balkans for the reconstruction of the railway between Belgrade and Bar, because it is a joint railway.
According to him, the railway between Belgrade and Bar is perhaps one of the most demanding railways ever built in Europe.
Vesić added that he also talked with Zogović and Vukićević about the completion of the construction of the motorway to Montenegro, that is, to work together in an attempt to find a partner that would build the Serbian 108 km and the Montenegrin 50 km, adding that the same is being done with the government of North Macedonia for the railway, according to the announcement of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure.
