European road Serbia’s main political goal

Prime Minister Miloš Vučević said today in Bled that Serbia does not have a plan B when it comes to its EU path, that this is something that is a geostrategic definition and it is the main political goal of Serbia in the past 20 years and added that Serbia remains on the European path.

Addressing the "World of Parallel Realities" leaders' panel within the Bled Strategic Forum 2024, Vučević said that this is something we have not changed and do not want to change.

In his presentation, the Prime Minister pointed out that Serbia will not change its European path, which it has taken for more than 20 years, and stated that we could hear at the panel some data about Serbia and the concrete results of our country's European path of which Serbia is proud.

According to him, we had a huge and serious, deep reform in the field of justice, reform of electoral issues, media issues, many issues that are very important in the entire reform process.

Serbia remains on the European path, Vučević pointed out and added that expectations regarding enlargement are a big issue for the countries of the Western Balkans.

He assessed that he cannot talk about whether the major enlargement will be in 2030 or some other year because in the past we have had many dates and years, but the enlargement did not happen.

I am not happy if we should see some war on European territory and understand the importance of encircling or encompassing the entire European territory, including the Western Balkans. I think that the countries and people of the Western Balkans have deserved this much earlier, said Vučević.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the EU project will not be completed without the countries of the Western Balkans and that no issue – be it economic, security or cultural – will be able to be fully resolved without this region.
