Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met in Washington, on the sidelines of the NATO Summit, with Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, co-chair of the Serbian Caucus in the US House of Representatives.
Đurić presented Congresswoman Tenney Serbia's foreign policy priorities in the coming period, pointing out that one of the focuses of our foreign policy will be the continuation of building quality political and economic relations with the USA.
The head of Serbian diplomacy expressed the expectation that the US administration will continue to perceive our country as a constructive and credible partner, and that the members of the Serbian caucus in Congress will be the guarantors of creating an objective picture of modern Serbia and its successes.
Đurić said that Serbia will continue to play a key role in preserving peace and stability in the Western Balkans, and emphasized that stability is a prerequisite for the continuation of the social and economic development of our country, which has the capacity to be the engine of development of the entire region.
The head of Serbian diplomacy, having informed Tenney about the latest economic indicators, and the fact that in the first quarter of this year we achieved the highest economic growth in Europe, expressed the hope that the USA, through investments and other forms of economic cooperation, will continue to play an important role in Serbia's development plans, according to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
