Integrated toll system between Serbia, Greece possible by summer

Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesic said yesterday, after meeting with Greek Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Staikouras, that the line ministries will do everything in their power to establish an integrated toll system between the two countries by summer.

Vesic said that the integrated toll system between Serbia and Greece would enable our tourists and those coming from Greece to use the same tags to pass through our two countries.

He invited Greece to be our guest at the Expo 2027 as Greece is one of the most important friends we have in Europe, a country that supports us and with which we have absolutely no open Question.

The officials concluded that the cooperation between the two countries in the field of traffic and transportation is very good, especially when it comes to air traffic, and that a lot more can be done to make the cooperation even better.

Staikouras said that Greece is ready to support Serbia when it comes to large-scale construction and infrastructural development.

When it comes to the toll collection system, we have already instructed our competent institutions to complete preliminary procedures that include cost-effectiveness studies and deal with the technical, administrative, commercial and legal aspects of implementing electronic toll collection, he explained.

The Minister said that in the coming weeks he will contact his Serbian colleagues and draw up a plan with all technical details and costs.
