Mali, who is attending Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Morocco, pointed out that the meeting was attended by 20 global financial institutions and investors who are interested in working with Serbia.
He announced that he will be in China next week, where a free trade agreement between Serbia and that country will be signed, and he assessed that this is an extremely important move for Serbia, which will be an additional argument for our attractiveness and competitiveness.
Mali added that he also participated in the Plenary Session of the World Bank's Development Committee, and he also spoke with the Director of the World Bank for the region to which Serbia belongs, Dominique Favre.
He rated the closed Plenary Meeting of the World Bank's Development Committee as one of the most important meetings in Marrakesh, since it was attended by the President of the World Bank, the President of the IMF, the President of the World Trade Organization, the Minister of Finance of the USA, Japan, India, Great Britain, and others.
The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that investments in the Green Agenda, especially in the energy sector, are very important, and said that since the beginning of the energy crisis last year, Serbia has been working rapidly on diversifying energy supply sources.
At the same time, he pointed out that world growth is slowing down, that the IMF reduced the growth forecast from 3.8 to 3 percent, while on the other hand, we still have the problem of inflation and conflicts, which are all the uncertainties and shocks we face.
We cannot influence global events, but by taking care of ourselves, we will be ready to react to every problem facing the world economy, Mali concluded.
