The Ministry of the Interior announced that in today’s operation aimed at combating illegal migration, police officers found a total of 300 irregular migrants in the forest area near the border with Hungary.

The Ministry of the Interior announced that in today’s operation aimed at combating illegal migration, police officers found a total of 300 irregular migrants in the forest area near the border with Hungary.
820 police officers participated in the action.
Out of the total number of migrants, 13 were detained in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure, and corresponding misdemeanor charges will be filed against 27.
During the operation, the police found nine automatic rifles, a hunting carbine with an optical sight, three pistols, as well as 841 pieces of ammunition of different calibers.
The found migrants, in cooperation with the Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia, were transported to reception centers where they were provided with adequate accommodation.
Interior Minister Bratislav Gasic said in Subotica that the Interior Ministry will not allow anyone to threaten the safety of citizens and their property.
