Water polo player Vladimir Vujasinovic was elected best athlete of the year 2005 by the Serbia-Montenegro's Olympic Committee.

Vujasinovic is a member of the Serbia-Montenegro's team which won the gold medal at the World championship in Montreal and first place in the final tournament of the World League in Belgrade.
Jasna Sekaric, winner of the gold medal at the European shooting championship in Belgrade, was elected best Serbia-Montenegro's woman athlete of the year.
Men's water polo team and women's junior basketball team were elected the best teams.
