Red Star fail to reach next round of UEFA Cup

Red Star Belgrade threw away a two-goal lead at Strasbourg and allowed Basel to qualify for the next round in the UEFA Cup. The Swiss side join Strasbourg and AS Roma despite losing 3-1 in Rome.

Serbia-Montenegro's side needed win in Strasbourg to qualify for the next round of the UEFA Cup. Dusan Basta put ahead Red Star in the 34th minute, and Ardijan Djokaj added a second in the 63rd minute.
Strasbourg came back with a goal from Kevin Gameiro in the 79th minute, and the same player levelled in stoppage time.
