Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated today that at least 10,000 more residents of Obrenovac will receive district heating, thanks to a project launched by the municipality in cooperation with the Electric Power Industry of Serbia.
Brnabic, who visited the dispatch centre of JKP "Toplovod Obrenovac", explained that the project will ensure that another million square meters will be covered by the central heating system, which is twice as much as at the moment.
The Prime Minister expressed her gratitude to EPS for initiating and financing the environmental protection project, the value of which is approximately €12 million.
Answering the question of journalists about the situation with the supply of electricity in Serbia, she pointed out that EPS has been stabilised as much as possible and that the need for import of electricity is decreasing.
The Prime Minister congratulated everyone in this company who worked day and night to stabilize the system, and reminded that the price of gas and electricity for citizens has not increased, while the price of electricity for the economy is limited to €75.
Brnabic added that further expansion of the district heating network is being considered in order to extinguish individual fireplaces, estimating that this will most quickly affect the air quality in our country, because individual fireplaces are one of the main causes of air pollution.
