Aleksandar Lukovic gave Red Star a 71st minute lead after striker Nikola Zigic went down under an innocuous challenge from Nisa Saveljic. Igor Perovic rifled home a superb injury time effort to seal victory after a good solo run.
The former European champions top the standings, a point ahead of OFK Beograd who lost 1-0 at Vojvodina and three more than third-placed Partizan.
