In a statement for Television Happy, Brnabic pointed out that Serbia had signed contracts for the purchase of 12,332,200 vaccines, that around two million arrived in our country, and that about 10 million vaccines are yet to be delivered.
She voiced hope that approximately 600,000 doses will arrive in our country in March, and said that she is satisfied with the vaccination process in our country and that many other countries are talking about the success of Serbia in that field.
The Prime Minister stated that the number of vaccinations per million people in Serbia is 181,000 and that she expects Serbia to overtake the United States in the next 24 to 48 hours and be the fifth country in the world in terms of the number of vaccinations.
Serbia is the first country in Europe in term of revaccination and the second in the world, after Israel.
She recalled that 150,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in our country yesterday, and added that revaccination with this vaccine is done not after 21 days, but after 12 weeks.
We will receive another 150,000 doses of AstraZeneca in 12 weeks, and then we will be able to revaccinate the citizens, said Brnabic.
However, the Prime Minister pointed out that regardless of the good vaccination process, it is important that those who received the jab also wear masks because it has been discovered that they can also transmit the virus to some extent, even after the second dose.
We must adhere to these measures until we acquire herd immunity, which is expected to take place soon, she stated.
