Brnabic, Chen Bo see off Chinese doctors from Serbia

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Serbia Chen Bo saw off a team of Chinese doctors at the "Nikola Tesla" Airport, who delivered the necessary equipment and protective material for the fight against coronavirus to our country.

Chinese doctors left Serbia shortly after midnight, and Prime Minister Brnabic had previously organised a farewell meeting for them in the government of Serbia.

The Prime Minister thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping for the quick reaction and assistance, the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade, as well as the entire team of experts for playing one of the key roles in our fight against COVID-19.

She reminded that the President of China immediately responded to the request of President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, emphasizing that the first plane from that country landed on 21 March, only 15 days after the first case was identified in Serbia.

According to her, ventilators, protective equipment arrived, but also the best experts who managed to fight the coronavirus in China.

They came to transfer knowledge and experience and to invest enormous energy. For 82 days, they toured the entire country. They had more than 150 meetings and activities with our health workers, the Prime Minister stated.

Brnabic sent an invitation to Chinese doctors to return to Serbia with their families as guests.

The Chinese ambassador to Serbia emphasised that the Chinese doctors have successfully completed the task and are now returning to their homes, noting that they shared their experience in preventing, controlling and treating this contagious disease with their Serbian colleagues.

Chen expressed gratitude to Vucic and the Serbian people for the trust and attention they showed to Chinese experts.

When they came to Serbia, it was an unknown country to them. Today, Serbia is in their hearts and they remain the eternal guardians of our steel friendship, she said.
