At today's session, the government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Conclusion on the allocation of approximately RSD 212 million from the state budget as financial assistance to independent artists in Serbia.
Independent artists, who are not employed and whose existence is endangered due to the coronavirus pandemic, will be paid non-refundable financial aid in the amount of RSD 30,000 per month net, for a period of three months, through local self-governments.
The assistance is intended for persons who have the status of persons performing independent artistic activity determined by representative associations, by transferring funds from the national budget to local self-governments, which will then pay the money to representative associations.
In this way, the government of Serbia wants to show that culture and art are among the priorities, since we recognise and deeply respect their importance for the entire society, which proved to be especially important in the moments of the fight against the coronavirus.
