Prime Minister Ana Brnabic laid a wreath at the entrance to the government building today, together with ministers, at the spot where Zoran Djindjic, Serbia's first democratic prime minister, was killed 17 years ago following the fall of the regime of Slobodan Milosevic in 2000.

The ribbon in Serbian flag colours reads: "To Dr Zoran Djindjic – government of the Republic of Serbia".
Together with Prime Minister Brnabic, ministers Nebojsa Stefanovic, Sinisa Mali, Rasim Ljajic, Zoran Djordjevic, Branko Ruzic, Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, Mladen Sarcevic, Nenad Popovic, Goran Knezevic, Branislav Nedimovic, Zorana Mihajlovic and Vanja Udovic also paid tribute to Djindjic.
Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic was killed on 12 March 2003, in the courtyard of the Serbian government building, by the officer of the Special Operations Unit (JSO) of the State Security Agency, Zvezdan Jovanovic, who was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
JSO commander Milorad Ulemek was sentenced to the same sentence for organising the murder.
