Serbia-Montenegro sink Hungary to win water polo World League

Belgrade, 14 August 2005

Serbia and Montenegro, reigning European and world champions, defeated Hungary 16-6 (4-2, 6-0, 3-2, 3-2) to win the FINA Men's Water Polo World League finals that finished in Belgrade on Sunday.

Scorers for Serbia and Montenegro were Sapic (7), Udovicic (2), Savic (2), Pijetlovic (2), Janovic (1), Gocic (1) and Prlainovic (1).

In the third place match, Germany surprisingly beat Croatia 10-8, while the Russian national team lost 9-14 to Greece in the fifth place match.
