The Brazilian men's volleyball team, reigning world, Olympic and World League champions, defeated hosts Serbia and Montenegro 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 26-24, 25-21) Friday in the second match of the final round of the Volleyball World League.

In the first match, Poland beat Cuba 3-2 (23-25, 26-24, 25-16, 22-25, 15-13).
The winner of the three-day event at Belgrade Arena Hall will get $1 million US. Two-time defending champion Brazil is the favourite.
Cuba, Poland and Brazil qualified for the final round by winning their groups, while third-ranked Serbia-Montenegro qualified automatically as host.

July 10: Losers of the matches will play for the third place, while winners of the matches will play for the World League title.
