Jelena Jankovic into the second round at Wimbledon

London, 21 June 2005

Serbia-Montenegro’s finest female tennis player, Jelena Jankovic made it into the second round of the Wimbledon tournament after posting a 6:4, 6:2 straight set triumph yesterday over Russian Anna Chakvetadze.

In the second round Jankovic will meet Argentine Mariana Diaz Oliva who won in straight sets over Britain’s Anne Keothavong.

In other Serbia-Montenegrin Wimbledon tennis action, Janko Tipsarevic will meet German Tommy Haas, and Novak Djokovic will meet Argentine Juan Monaco.

Ana Ivanovic will meet Russian Vera Douchevina today.

In men’s doubles, Nenad Zimonjic and Indian Leander Paes will meet Argentine Lucas Arnold and Italian Daniele Bracciali in the first round of the doubles competition.

In women’s doubles Jelena Jankovic and Croatian Jelena Kostanic will meet American double Davenport-Morariu. Ana Ivanovic and Slovenian Tina Krizan will meet Italian double Pennetta- Schiavone in the first round.
