Medeksa wins Belgrade Marathon with new course record

Belgrade, 23 April 2005

Derba Medeksa of Ethiopia and Russia's Inge Abitova won the 18th Belgrade marathon.

Medeksa finished in 2:12:10, breaking the course record by close to 20 seconds, while Russian Abitova won the women’s race in 2:38:20.

About 10,000 participants took part in the five kilometers long "Race of pleasure".
