Djokovic appointed UNICEF goodwill ambassador

The world's no.1 tennis player Novak Djokovic, who has been national ambassador of UNICEF to Serbia since 2011, has been appointed global ambassador of goodwill of this organisation.

Ms. Yoka Brandt, UNICEF Deputy Executive Director, underlined at the appointment ceremony that Novak Djokovic is a true championship for all children of the world, who has proved that a strong voice and a strong action can improve the position of children, especially of the youngest.
Djokovic said that he is honoured to have become a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, and that he will continue to help defend and uphold children’s rights and provide access to early childhood care and development for every girl and every boy.
I am committed to helping UNICEF provide quality early care and development to children, especially those who are most vulnerable, to help them build a brighter future for themselves, their families, and their communities,” the world’s no.1 tennis player concluded.
