Ilija Petkovic names squad for World Cup qualifier aganst Spain

Serbia and Montenegro coach Ilija Petkovic named three under-21 regulars in his 20-man squad for World Cup qualifier against Spain - Red Star defender Dusan Basta, Partizan Belgrade midfielder Simon Vukcevic and Lecce striker Mirko Vucinic.

The match will be played at Red Star stadium in Belgrade on March 30.

Petkovic will miss suspended playmaker Zvonimir Vukic and right back Marjan Markovic, ineligible to play for his new club Genoa after leaving Red Star Belgrade during the mid-season break before his contract expired.

Goalkeepers: Dragoslav Jevric (Ankaraspor), Oliver Kovacevic (Zeleznik Belgrade).

Defenders: Milivoje Cirkovic (Partizan Belgrade), Nenad Djordjevic (Partizan Belgrade), Ivica Dragutinovic (Standard Liege), Goran Gavrancic (Dynamo Kiev), Mladen Krstajic (Schalke 04), Nemanja Vidic (Spartak Moscow), Dusan Basta (Red Star Belgrade).

Midfielders: Dejan Stankovic (Inter Milan), Predrag Djordjevic (Olympiakos Piraeus), Igor Duljaj (Shaktar Donetsk), Dragan Mladenovic (Real Sociedad), Ognjen Koroman (Krylya Sovietov Samara), Sasa Ilic (Partizan Belgrade), Simon Vukcevic (Partizan Belgrade).

Forwards: Savo Milosevic (Osasuna Pamplona), Mateja Kezman (Chelsea), Nenad Jestrovic (Anderlecht), Mirko Vucinic (Lecce).

Serbia and Montenegro lead the group with 10 points from four matches ahead of Spain on eight and a win would put them in a commanding position to qualify for next year's finals in Germany.
