Starting a
bilateral meeting with Premier of China Li Keqiang at the Palace of Serbia, Vucic said that citizens of our country see China as a true friend.
He said he is flattered by the fact that Serbia can host one of the most powerful leaders of the world, and reiterated that Serbia backs one-China policy, to which it remains faithful and will not change it.
He pointed out that the two countries have very good political relations, and voiced hope that economic relations will be improved, that the exchange of goods will be much higher, and that work on the development of infrastructure will be intensified.
Vucic stated that the goal of our country is to attract as many Chinese businessmen as possible to invest in Serbia because this allows for the access to a market of about one billion people in the countries with which our country has a free trade exchange.
The Prime Minister specified that these are the markets of the EU, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Turkey.
The Premier of China stressed that the friendship between China and Serbia is getting stronger and that Beijing insists on deepening mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
He congratulated Serbia on successful organisation of
the Third Meeting of Heads of Government of China and countries of Central and Eastern Europe, noting that in recent years remarkable results in numerous projects have been achieved.
The Premier of China underlined that the two countries also support each other politically in matters of crucial interest.
He explained that the principle of China's foreign policy is to treat and respect each country equally, because each country has its own specific advantage and culture, as well as an approach with which it aims to contribute to the common development of human civilisation.
Keqiang said that this is his first time in Serbia, and recalled that the last time a Chinese premier officially visited Belgrade was 28 years ago.
There is a traditional friendship between the two countries, especially in the last few years, which is based on mutual respect and consideration, the Premier of China concluded.
Vucic received Premier of China Li Keqiang and a Chinese delegation in front of the Palace of Serbia today, with the solemn march of the Serbian Army and the anthems of the two countries.
