Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica met today with Governor of the Council of Europe Development Bank Raphael Alomar and talked about the bank's donations and soft loans for securing assistance to refugees, displaced persons and the underprivileged, and for clean-up works in the flood-stricken areas of Central Banat.

Kostunica said that foreign investors have the confidence to invest in Serbia, which has been demonstrated at the Annual Meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) that is being held in Belgrade.
Kostunica especially pointed out the very difficult living conditions of a large number of refugees and displaced persons.
Alomar said that very favourable conditions exist for investing in Serbia and that the Council of Europe Development Bank is ready to secure assistance under favourable terms to refugees and displaced persons, and for inundated areas in Central Banat.
Serbian Ministers Milan Parivodic and Predrag Bubalo, who also participated in the talks, presented the data from the initial damage assessment in flooded areas and said that the priority is to reconstruct housing facilities, road networks, farms and make up for the damage to the cattle industry.
Serbian Commissioner for Refugees Dragisa Dabetic also attended the meeting.
