Special Court verifies 30 year prison sentences for Kalinic, Simovic

The Special Court in Belgrade verified 30 year prison sentences for members of the Zemun Clan Milos Simovic and Sretko Kalinic for the assassination of Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic on 12 March 2003.

Judge Velimir Lazovic said that the whole ruling of the Special Court pronounced on 23 May 2007, and verified by the Appeal Court on 19 September 2008, was verified.
The ruling was pronounced in their absence since at the time Kalinic and Simovic were fugitives, and were granted another trial by the Court following their arrest.
They can issue an appeal within 15 days of receiving today’s ruling.
