Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić announced today that she had scheduled the constitutive session of parliament for 17 November, at 10.00.
At a press conference at the House of the National Assembly, Brnabić recalled that the Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) adopted the Overall Report on the Results of the Parliamentary Elections on 5 November, and the decision on the allocation of mandates and the report on the elections held on 6 November, which was submitted to the National Assembly, thereby fulfilling all the requirements for convening the first session of the new convocation.
She specified that the agenda for the session comprises six items: confirmation of the mandates of MPs, election of the Speaker and Deputy Speakers of the National Assembly, appointment of the Secretary General, election of members of parliamentary working bodies and election of members of permanent parliamentary delegations to international institutions.
Until a new speaker of the National Assembly is elected, the session will be presided over by the oldest MP, Professor Stojan Radenović. The session will begin with the confirmation of MPs’ mandates. The constitution of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia will mark the beginning of the work of the new parliament’s convocation, the 15th in succession, Brnabić explained.
