Belgrade to host 2009 Summer Universiade

George E. Killian, president of the International University Sports Federation (FISU), announced here on Monday that Belgrade, capital of Serbia and Montenegro, won the right to host the 25th Summer Universiade in 2009.
Northeastern Chinese city of Harbin will host the Winter Universiade, also to take place in 2009.
The decision was made by the 23 members of the Executive Committee of FISU in a secret vote.
