Head of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija Nebojsa Covic and UNMIK chief Harri Holkeri met early this morning to discuss current situation in Kosovo-Metohija, following the worst ethnic clashes that swept the province since 1999.
Covic urged Holkeri to secure full personal safety of Serbs and their property, as well as of all facilities belonging to the Serbian Orthodox Church. The two officials agreed to maintain close contact in order to secure cooperation and exchange of information and to prevent new attacks on Serbs in the province.
Nebojsa Covic arrived to Kosovska Mitrovica early this morning following an outbreak of violence which first caught the city of Kosovska Mitrovica and then spread to other parts of Kosovo, read a statement by the Coordinating Centre.
