Vice President of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija Branislav Krtsic said today that UNESCO representatives will visit Belgrade and Kosovo-Metohija to assess damage to Serbian monuments of culture following the March outburst of ethnic violence against Kosovo Serbs.
Krstic told a press conference that through the Inter SOS humanitarian organisation, the Italian government will invest €150,000 in the repair of the Patriarchate of Pec and €90,000 for the Visoki Decani monastery. He added that the Coordinating Centre has set aside the same sum for the repair of this cultural and historical monuments.
He said that the repair of these two sacred sites is a priority for this year, after which will follow the repair of the monasteries of Holy Archangels and Devic, and of the Holy Virgin of Lyevish church in Prizren.
