Following Wednesday's unrests in Kosovo-Metohija, the units of the Serbian Ministry of Interior (MUP) at the administrative border with the south Serbian province were put on maximum combat alert and in cooperation with other security services stepped up security measures in order to prevent Albanian terrorism from spilling over to other parts of Serbia, read a statement by the MUP.
"The Serbian Ministry of Interior patiently awaits further decisions and instructions of the Serbian government and the Supreme Defence Council of Serbia-Montenegro, ready to protect at any moment the rights, life and property of Serbs and all its citizens, as well as its state interests on its entire territory", the statement concluded.
