Obradovic said at a press conference held at the Serbian government that the textbooks in question are in the subjects “The Serbian language”, “The basis of culture of the Serbs” and “My homeland Serbia.”
The Textbooks and Teaching Aids Institute offered great help to the relevant Ministry in the realisation of this project.
There are 256 groups of children of our citizens abroad with more than 3,850 pupils divided into three age levels, the Minister added.
The junior level includes the first, second and third grades, the middle level the fourth, fifth and sixth grades and the senior level the seventh and eighth grades.
Obradovic said that teaching in classes that exist in Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Greece, Italy, Denmark, South Africa and China is carried out by 26 regular and 19 part-time teachers.
The number of groups and teachers will be increased because there have been demands for new classes in Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Austria, Great Britain and Slovenia, as well as a request for new groups in the United States, Canada, Africa and Australia.
He pointed out that these textbooks will be available through diaspora associations in these countries, the Textbooks and Teaching Aids Institute and the Ministry of Education and Science.
Assistant Minister Vesna Fila said that the electronic textbooks have rounded up the possibility of implementing the educational process of children of Serbian origin living abroad.
Based on assessments of teachers by parents, coordinators for extracurricular activities and ambassadors, teachers working abroad can have their engagement period extended, Fila stated.
