Milosavljevic told a press conference at the Milan Jovanovic Batut public health institute that these are ‘imported cases’, stressing that the flu has not spread in Serbia.
He stressed that the Ministry of Health is in contact with the Croatian Ministry because
the first infected person arrived by plane from Argentina via Frankfurt and Zagreb, adding that it is up to the Croatian authorities to examine the remaining passengers on the flight or anyone who was in contact with the infected.
The Minister added that everyone who had contact with the 29 year old infected male are also under medical supervision.
He said
the second case of infection was confirmed at the Torlak Virology Institute, a girl from Sombor, who is now hospitalised in Sombor hospital.
The Minister explained that on June 22 the girl arrived from Melbourne via Abu Dhabi and Frankfurt, stressing that her condition is stable.
Milosavljevic noted that antiviral medications are issued only on prescription and will be distributed where necessary, adding that their expiry date has been prolonged for two years according to the decision of the European Medicines Agency.
There is a regime for issuing antiviral medications. Those are not drugs that you can buy but only receive on prescription and I presume it is available in private pharmacies as well. However, the reserves will be distributed according to need, specified the Minister.
