Speaking at a press conference Milosavljevic said that representatives of the ministries of health, defence, interior, science, agriculture, education, public administration, trade, economy, finance, labour, foreign affairs and the Diaspora will take part in the work of the coordinating body.
The Minister explained that the tasks of this body will be to provide the highest level of support for current and future actions if required, organising operational teams, ensuring cooperation between the ministries, coordination with neighbouring countries and identifying areas where international help might be needed.
He said that currently the antiviral drug reserve is adequate for nearly 1% of the population, adding that it has been decided to triple the reserves over the next few weeks.
Five clinical centres in Serbia have infective clinics the Minister said, adding that in the past two years RSD 169 million has been invested in equipment for these clinics.
Milosavljevic said that a woman suspected of having the swine flu virus H1N1 has been admitted today to the Vojvodina Clinical Centre in Novi Sad and added that the Torlak Institute will give a preliminary diagnosis and blood test results this evening.
Speaking on travel restrictions to countries where swine flu has been recorded, he stated that there is no reason for restrictions but warned travellers to be cautious and to wash their hands regularly and be hygienic.
Milosavljevic informed ministers today about the epidemiological situation in the world, noting that 155 cases of the flu have been recorded so far in Mexico.
