After the talks with Cuban Foreign Trade Minister Raul de la Nuez Ramirez, Milosavljevic said that both sides want to boost trade exchange and that Serbian companies have been preparing for cooperation with Cuba for several months.
According to him, Serbia can export agricultural goods to Cuba, such as grains, fruit and vegetables, as well as pharmaceutical and medical products, consumer goods, equipment and technical products.
On the other hand, Cuba can offer medical and pharmaceutical products, tourist services and ores, said Milosavljevic.
Milosavljevic stressed that the opening of the Cuban market is a great perspective for the Serbian economy and expressed conviction that their modest trade exchange will improve in the following months.
Cuba has offered to be Serbia’s base for Central and South American markets, with which Cuba has already developed economic and political cooperation, while Serbia can be the Cuban base for the CEFTA countries and Russia, he pointed out.
Milosavljevic said that the Cuban debt to Serbian companies is more than €100 million, and added that it is not to be an obstacle for the current and new economic cooperation.
We will try to solve the problem together, and the best way to do that is to improve cooperation, he added.
Cuban Foreign Trade Minister Raul de la Nuez Ramirez expressed belief that the visit to Serbia will soon yield satisfactory results as to the improvement of trade exchange, and added that Cuba has succeeded in increasing the production level in the previous period, particularly in mining, biotechnology and tobacco industry.
The two delegations will continue talks in the following two days.
